Spengler & Fürst GmbH has been producing wool cloths since 1837. Already in the very first years of the company existing it became a successful enterprise based in the town of Crimmitschau. In those early days Spengler products were in high demand world-wide, prove of which is given by awards received at the world expositions in London 1851, in Paris 1855 and in Chicago 1893.

The first World War and the world-wide crisis of business which followed it meant hard times for industry in Germany. Nevertheless, Spengler & Fürst continued their company tradition. In 1937 they celebrated their 100th anniversary and they held an outstanding rank in German cloth manufacturing.
